Kids' World of Energy Festival

TREC Education's 5th Annual Kids' World of Energy Festival took place from May 15 – May 19th, 2012 at the Evergreen Brick Works. We will have photos posted on our website, and on our Facebook Page soon. For details about 2012 Festival please see below.

Kids' World of Energy Festival provides students with the connection between energy and the environment, and inspires them to work towards an energy conscious world.

Held for its second year at the Evergreen Brick Works, a community green space in the heart of Toronto. Our five day Festival offers Gr. 5 and Gr. 6 students a unique range of activities involving sciences, green technology, art and sport. This year we will have four School Days, and one Community Day on the Saturday, May 19th.

The Festival will also showcase participants of TREC Education's 2012 Design Challenge. Students from 6 schools across Toronto, will present model wind turbines and solar designs in a special booth showcasing their renewable energy projects. The exhibit is made possible by Kiosk Solar.

Students will:

•Learn the science and importance behind renewable energy

•Experience fun, real world applications to the science they study in school

•Learn the benefits and best practices of energy conservation

•Get hands-on environmental education in a green, natural setting
